On January 4, I was involved in an auto collision at dusk. You will find video of that crash in this post, captured on the dash cam of a motorist following behind the Infinity that pulled out in front of me. I was minding my own business, traveling around the speed limit (45 miles per hour), when with about 50 yards of notice, our friend decided there was no time like the present to make that long-awaited left turn.
My first collision at any notable speed. I have skidded off the road solo before thanks to a hydroplane, and bumped my share of things in the parking lot over 24 years behind the wheel, but never had a good, old-fashioned wreck. The man who hit me was elderly, clearly in his mid-eighties, and according to an officer responding, had caused an accident in the past year that forced him to take an evaluation to stay on the road. Unfortunately, he passed that exam, which led to his wife going to the hospital after this crash.
As we waited for responders, this man tried to tell me this crash wasn’t his fault because my lights weren’t on. Watch the video and decide for yourself. My battle damage assessment comes down to a broken right hand, concussion, whiplash, contused left leg, and air bag burns on my forehead and right hand and arm.
I have not enjoyed the difficulty in exercising, typing, texting, rolling over in bed, or anything I never considered a challenge before breaking this small bone in my hand. As I was getting checked out by the first responders, including having my blood pressure checked, light shined in my eyes, and other pokes and prods, I did a self-evaluation to make sure everything upstairs still worked.
I suggest, in the event of a traumatic collision, you self-check and ask these questions (seek greater care if you answer them wrong):
To be answered in the negative:
Did Joe Biden receive 81 million legitimate votes in the 2020 election?
Are there more than two genders?
Has socialism or communism succeeded anywhere it has been tried?
To be answered in the affirmative:
Is mail-in voting a crime against a people?
Is taxation theft?
If you defeated your hated political adversary beyond shadow of doubt, would you gloat in the victory and ensure every ballot was counted, reviewed, and then counted again?
OK to be uncertain:
Does light flash before one’s eyes before death?
What would the world be like today if the South won?
Would Trump have run if Obama didn’t make fun of him?
One question you’d better ask yourself:
What does God want me to learn from this?

Life is short, the ride is fast, and bumps happen. Wear your seatbelt and do your best, because ultimately, not everything is in your control.
Author’s note: As I’ve described on other channels, I am recovering. Typing isn’t easy, but I’m still trying to put out relevant content for a year that is already starting off with a “bang.” I appreciate your readership, and if you feel enough sympathy, you’re more than welcome to become a paid subscriber!
If I had sipped my tea at the right moment, that would have been a spit take when we got to Question 1. Bravo. I'm already a paid subscriber and I view it as not only investing in the future of our country and the world, for my children and future generations, but storing up treasure in heaven as well. This is God's work. I am adding you to my prayers for protection and blessing.
I hope the police grabbed that driver's camera, Seth~
