X has lost its initial intent and spirit to its ad revenues program, which guarantees laser precision and a focus on actionable information take a back seat to clickbait and faux outrage.
The great thing about Substack is that you can do deep dives on subjects and find readers. In the legacy media, you cannot. On the socials you cannot. Yes, it is an income cut, but the absence of trolls and controls makes it worth it - it is subtle influence, and I think more significant.
Money is a root of all kinds of evil. Anyone who thinks God isn't having a hoot should think about the irony of enslaving yourself to people you don't know and will never meet over the opinions of people you don't know and will never meet.
There is the old stock/bond broker/trader quip: "Don't fight the tape." The moralists and the economists want to find lessons from prices; what the broker/traders understood (and understand now) is that prices are only what they are - information using currency signs. They have no necessary or useful relation to value. Once you fully accept DFTT as a rule, you can trust your own instincts about what bets you want to make without ever worrying or even thinking about what other choices other people are making. You do what the Captain has done and decide what you will do and won't do for money, and you stop counting past wins and losses or keeping score with others. You simply read the tape. The Captain has offered us a brilliant insight by telling us his numbers; it is a trade that has moral value and a trade will help him make money.
Excellent analysis of X. Once the Epstein issue reared its head recently, I stopped reading some of the people I had been following - it was a waste of my precious time. Keep up the great work, sir!
I have also been perplexed how some influencers seem to digitally dominate while others go unseen. I’ve just trusted my gut on whom to follow, and we saw your genuineness early on. There is a certain person that I’ll keep nameless (endorsed by Lara T) that does not impress me in the least. I think you and a few others deserve far more credit for educating the rest of us on election dynamics and how our system has failed. And I sincerely hope that the cream will rise to the top, so you will get credit for your hard work and endurance. You are a national hero, in my book.
I’m already a paid subscriber and I completely agree with your assessment of what’s written here, but as someone who has tried to keep people interested and activated for a campaign, the knock on effect is this is suppressing voter interest. Day after day these people harp on the fact that we have a do nothing Congress. Despite the fact that five months ago, these people knew nothing about how Congress operates or how unbelievable the accomplishments of this Congress are.
Pollsters like Rasmussen are pointing to the Epstein situation as the reason why Trump is getting less credit for his wins than he should get even amongst his base. And I think he’s right in the short term, but over the longer term the effect of these people constantly criticizing on X is having an effect as well.
Thanks for sharing numbers, interesting to see. I applaud the wise choice to protect yourself from nonproductive attacks, freeing yourself to concentrate on actual evaluations.

thank you for the economics lesson. Explains a lot about the wildly divergent Epstein opinions out there.

You’re the person I subscribe to because I know I’m getting way more than my money’s worth.
And this….ladies and gentlemen…. is why we appreciate and respect The Captain.

You just keep hitting home run after home run.
It's a pity that fact-based content is often overshadowed by the fear-mongering hysterics that are little more than click bait.

This too comes back to greed. It's why things are the way they are.
Good for you Captain. A man of integrity and purpose.
Insightful as always. Thanks Seth.
