Irrefutable Point X: Post-Election Behavior by Media and Politicians

The tenth and final irrefutable point surrounding the ignoble conclusion of the 2020 “election” departs from the drift of the first nine in that is has nothing to do with statistics, and everything to do with human behavior.  Political discourse, in the turn of the 21st century, is so polarizing and toxic that often, the greatest, most energizing moments for one’s base come from dunking on your opponents.

This reminds me of the college rivalry I grew up with, which was Ole Miss vs. Mississippi State.  The baseball rivalry is an honorable one, with the players having grown up with one another and having mutual respect for the other program.  The football rivalry is, as Ty Cobb would have put it, as gentlemanly as a kick in the crotch.  There is generally equal happiness on any given Saturday with your rival’s loss as there is with your own win.  That is the essence of toxicity, but in something generally unimportant in the grand scheme of life, sports.

Undoubtedly, the biggest “own,” perhaps of all time, would be for the Democrats to throw all the cards on the table and revel in the utter defeat of the election integrity movement and the final humbling of Donald J. Trump, ending the 2020 discussion once and for all.

Instead, we have the complete opposite reaction.
