I just got off an hour-long video call between California and England and decided to grab a yogurt to eat for a late lunch. I sat down and opened your post to read while I ate, as reading helps me eat slower lest I rush to return to the work that lies before me.
While I played sports in school and can appreciate America's pastimes, I am not a die-hard sports fan like you, yet I continued to read. When I read the following statements, it was like I had an instantaneous California-to-Texas connection with you as you articulated my feelings for so long.

My heart grieves to realize that not only is my now 14-year-old daughter having a very different experience than the traditional All-American "motherhood and apple pie" life that you, her combat-veteran father (deceased), I and others enjoyed, but she may never have those experiences because we are a nation in decline.
Our "one nation under God" has turned its back on God and is living the consequences. John Adams said, "Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." Morality and virtue are the foundation of our constitutional republic and are necessary for a free society. Good Americans have been consumed with their lives and pastimes and have not engaged in the civic process. Consequently, bad actors have gained positions of power across our government.
When people ask me what the number one issue is facing our nation, I say there are two primary issues. First and foremost, America's founders were inspired by God when they wrote our founding documents and fought for the cause of liberty, and Americans have been blessed because of that Judeo-Christian foundation. Yet, America has turned her back on God, violated his laws, and has suffered the consequences. I plead to God to have mercy on our nation and pray 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
Secondly, the USA's elections are rigged at all levels nationwide so that the outcomes no longer represent the will of We The People but the will of those who hold the keys. Those selected, rather than elected, do not feel beholden to We The People, whom they claim to represent. They feel untouchable because they know the fix is in. They act to serve their interests, forcing their radical agenda and destructive ideology on all of us with impunity. Every generation has worked to improve life for the next generation until now. We are all suffering, but our children are suffering the most.
Seth, you have served our country honorably in other capacities. Still, your work for election integrity is your life's calling, for it is of the utmost importance. You are here for a time such as this, and on behalf of a grateful nation, I thank you for your self-sacrifice.
While the current situation is dire and the outlook is bleak, I am a realist and an optimist. I know there are people like you and me across this nation who fear God and are working diligently to restore our constitutional republic before it is too late. I pray that others' eyes will be opened to this reality and that they will have the conviction to take a stand for truth and liberty and join us in this righteous cause.

I feel the same. I haven’t watched an NBA game in 2 years, MLB in 3. And I was addicted also. I knew I was in the right place though when I didn’t even care about a Bedlam basketball matchup last month and instead was at Wednesday night service at Liberty Church Edmond playing dodgeball with the Sparks group of 7 year olds.
Exactly on point! I’ve experienced exactly the same in my once extreme, but now almost evaporated love of sports. I went from having ESPN on 24 hrs/day, to not even being disappointed that I don’t have any sports channels.
But I’m thankful for the perspective that God’s given me - that there are many more important priorities that have taken over in my life. Shifting focus hasn’t hurt me a bit- but seeking the things of Eternity has harvested a tremendous amount more.
Great post. MiLB games are a lot more fun, and connect me better with the everyman vs the world, scrappiness, big green fields, wide open spaces, constant failure but occasional brilliant success, long relaxing times punctuated by unpredictable heart pounding suspense and drama, and underdog moments that mean 'America.' But as the latter descends into tyranny (it was a good 250 yrs), the games lose their transcendental impact. I think the Founding Fathers never would've thought we'd have made it this long...

It was the pandemic as well as the stolen election Captain. Pop culture celebrities, including many older ones I might have idolized in my youth, urging me to get the mRNA jab. The ones who made their names and fortunes rebelling against "the establishment" became the tools of the establishment.
The things I enjoyed and may have spent money on - movies, music, etc - none of that matters to me any more. I won't put $$ into the coffers of Hollywood anymore so the movie industry can continue spewing out its depravity. Even when it puts out such obvious bait as "Top Gun Maverick" for us to bite. Sports arenas and concert halls that insisted we show our vax papers or mask up will never get my business again. I've cut ties with as many businesses as possible that did the same.
And then there's the stolen elections. In my so-called "red" state, however, "kindness" and the adherence to civility are more valued than exposing truth. Any questions about election irregularities have been shouted down. After January 6, the "let's move forward, let's move on" stance of the GOP was a knife in the back to the GOP voting base. Scott Presler, back in September 2022, predicted "maybe" a red trickle for the midterms, and I think he was spot on. If the GOP is having turnout problems, and I believe we are (at least in my state), it could be a consequence of that decision to "move forward" and sweep election irregularities under the rug. The GOP has sown the seeds of its own demise. It will either disintegrate or it will become an entirely different party made up of very different leadership than what we have today.
....more elections were stolen from the GOP in 2022 than in 2020. It was a MASSIVE red wave in Nov 2022. At least 5 Senate seats were stolen.....Oz, Herschel, Masters, Laxalt, and Bolduc. Many House seats were stolen, and many state legislative seats were stolen. The crooks know how important the state legislatures are when it comes to certifying Presidential elections.
Unless my state's Lt Gov made tens of thousands of ballots disappear with no one being the wiser, I know for a fact there was no red wave in my state for the 2022 midterms. On the other hand, there is a voter apathy wave, despite the Lt Governor's GOTV push. She acts as a SOS.
A lot of us think she is shady. She doxxed the private contact info to the local leftist media of a person who filed a FOIA request for 2020 election data.
I collected and published election data over a number of cycles and turnout is hitting lows not seen in several cycles.
Maybe when voters feel like the GOP will have their back instead of stabbing it, and properly address corruption, elections and elsewhere, they'll decide to vote again.

Don't forget, though, that a lot of vote-flipping has been going on for who knows how many election cycles. On 3 Nov 2020, about 60,000 votes in Utah were flipped from R to D, so if you're using certified totals, you're off. Most of the 2020 steal came from Salt Lake City votes that were altered from an I.P. address in Vietnam. Or so says Dennis Montgomery, whom I believe. Don't be so sure that people in Utah aren't voting.
A lot of people aren't. A number of activists were out there before November trying to get people to vote. And I can't blame them. Why should they vote, when they don't see a difference in the outcome the GOP shows ZERO interest in addressing. It's a uniparty here. Capitol Hill is full of self-aggrandizing snakes.
My turnout numbers do not distinguish between votes that were flipped or not. Strictly ballots that showed up for counting. There is a difference between counting general turnout and THEN counting ballots that may have been altered.

That, Captain K, was a heartfelt message. I still have the same job and life I had before 3 Nov 2020, but I spend a lot of free time on "EF," as I call it.....Election Fraud. I've made it my primary mission to educate people and prod lawyers and reporters and Trump and anyone else who will read my stuff about the writ of quo warranto option for victims of federal election fraud. It is killing me that Trump has not availed himself of this opportunity. But back to baseball......take the kids to a minor league game next time......it will feel more like the Major League games you remember as a kid......fans closer to the field, reasonable prices, real dirt & grass. And minor league players always put out......every game is like a playoff game to them. They can't afford to get a reputation as someone who won't work hard. At the Triple A level, they're just a phone call from the "show." They're good players, and they want that phone call. Maybe you'll be like Ted Williams, who had his career interrupted by WWII. When we get these elections fixed, I think you'll feel the old love for baseball come back to you. Ted had some great years after the war......which reminds me of a story. He managed for a few years.....Washington and Texas when the Senators moved there. At the time, late 1960's, teams began turning to younger managers.......they could relate better to the players, was the belief. Ted and the Senators were up here to play my Twins, and the St Paul paper beat writer starting chatting with Ted before a game, when Ted was hanging around the batting cage. Now Ted was a pretty gruff guy, generally. Colorful language, like your Pop, Captain K. The subject of younger managers was brought up by the St Paul guy........Dave Bristol specifically, who was managing in Milwaukee. As the writer tells it, the rest went like this:
