Four people run for a statewide office. Candidates Smith, Jones, Thompson, and Brown are running in their state’s first ever Ranked Choice Voting election, in which a candidate must obtain a majority of votes to win.
If, on the first ballot, no candidate takes 50% of first place votes, the fourth place candidate will be dropped from the second ballot and have his or her votes reassigned.

Summary:
RINO votes can dilute support for a MAGA candidate to come in short of a majority on a first ballot, and if, out of spite, they peg a Democrat as second choice to spite the MAGA candidate, they get the Palin result from this week.
The happiest person in Alaska is Lisa Murkowski, who appears on track to be re-elected this fall thanks to Alaska doing all it can to turn itself into the next Oregon.
Nailed it. I am so disappointed in my fellow Alaskans. People voted for the Clickbait rank choice voting because of the frosting on that initiative that offered transparency of political donors. Personally I actually wonder if that even passed or if they mess with that vote too. We literally ran into Republican district reps on street corners promoting Merkowski even though she was sanctioned by the republican party. It’s just horrible how we are fractured, the conservatives and the rhinos. Divided we stand divided we will fall. We must find a way to abolish rank choice voting.
