This fight will never be 'over' and we'll never 'get our country back.' The changes that have been made are here, forever (or until new changes erase them from the board). It's the Hegelian notion. The past was the thesis, the new progressive ideas and policy changes are the antithesis, and the synthesis results from our opposing them.

Two comments: (1) the powerful are the real focus of these changes. It's sad and unfair but the poor and the sick and the lower-middle class are mostly passengers on this ship. The outcome of the cultural battles happening right now will be determined in institutions which exist plus others which are emerging.

(2) the big trends we need to be cognizant of are certainly political (and electoral) but ALSO social and cultural and psychological. If our birth rate doesn't begin to rebound and our family structures continue to dissolve and millions of kids remain stuck in a kind of digital purgatory, then no amount of political victories will redeem us. The border is now mostly closed: great. But a border is only really meaningful in a country with healthy communities and a sense of civic duty.

We have a lot of work to do.
