It really is depressing what one reads from otherwise sensible seeming people on the web...even here on Substack.
But as someone cheerfully pointed out, it makes it a lot easier to systematically block those who have (to borrow Koestler's memorable phrase) "unmasked themselves as reactionaries."
I'm pretty tolerant of disagreement (which is not to say that I won't come back swinging, but that's the game). But I do have a couple things which are the hard deck of my tolerance: full-frontal, copper-bottomed antisemitism--by whatever name it wants to call itself--being first and foremost.
Lots of folks out there who've lighted that lamp, which I've now--for myself at least--extinguished.
I appreciate the comment. As you know, Iβve got pretty skeptical opinions across the board of all foreign governments and realize they all use the US to elevate themselves and gain influence, and I donβt like it. Yet I canβt stand people who say any criticism of Israel is anti-Semitism, and I also donβt like this new strain out there that canβt understand sometimes multiple countries have the same interest. The ones that are openly cheering the Iranian regime are insane people.
Excellent job in in your analysis in trying to get everyone to lift their thinking back up to 30K feet where it should be! I too am sorry that you and your wife have to put up with so much crap from people that you are clearly trying to educate or to help understand what is really going on.
Regarding Israel, there are opinions like yours, based on reasoned analysis; like J.D. Vance; based on an America First philosophy combined with loyalty to the President and a leadership talent that allows him to listen and deliberate; like Tom Massie and Rand Paul, based on consistent application of a libertarian-rooted isolationist viewpoint, and so on. But then there are those like Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Nick Fuentes, Candace Owen, etc. where the venom and prejudice just pours out of them, often in the form of outright lies and hallucinations. I hope people in MAGA can begin to see the difference and see how divisive they are.
I once really liked MTG, but she has lost her mind, and her loyalty. I still respect Tucker, though I do not agree with everything he says. I never followed Fuentes, saw through him at the start. Candace is another story. I don't follow her, but I don't see her as being a threat to MAGA, or divisive. She has brought up the many inconsistencies in the CK event, and that needs to be considered. Lionel defends her views.
The real problem, as Seth points out, is public ignorance of facts and history. For example, it is not "anti-semitic" to say that the nation state called Israel is not our friend. I know the difference between that artificial nation in the middle east, and the Jews who live there, or elsewhere. That nation should be called Judea, not Israel.
As for Massie and Paul, I think they are disingenuous and hypocritical when they put their questionable libertarian beliefs over supporting American interests at a critical time.
Iran has been a majority of the evil doers in the past 47 years, killing Americans, not directly, but thru proxies (Hamas, Hezbollah), IEDs and recently (2020) dirty bombs in Iraq. The Ayatollahs and other To-Be-Ayatollahs need to die and their incredibly evil beliefs go with them.
Unfortunately those beliefs are here. Note the 332 madrassas in Texas. Sharia law must be outlawed in this country and stop the influx of muslims.
"...because I trust no government. I donβt trust my own government (nor should you, nor does the President - although I think theyβre capable of more good than usual for the time being), I donβt trust Israelβs government, and I donβt trust any foreign government. I am an equal opportunity hater when it comes to the governments of the world,"
There is more wisdom and common sense in this paragraph than in the thousands of words spilled across most of the Internet today! Thank you for having common sense - which has truly become the rarest of commodities in our current political climate!
Excellent. The War Colleges should award you a commendation for consolidating into one page what it takes them nine months to hammer into people. I console myself with the thought that the American Revolution was won with the active support of about 30% of the population. That would still seem to be the percentage of the population that can process what's going on at the moment.
As a ten year resident of Arizona, I appreciate what Capt. Keshel is focused on. Political corruption in Arizona is as bad as any other Demoncrap-run state, and the Arizona Republic is as left-wing, or even marxist, as any rag sheet in the nation. As a 2020 resident, I have no doubt that Hobbs and her Demoncrap thugs stole the election statewide. Basically no signs or gatherings for China Joe, but plenty for Trump, but no matter as the fix was in and worked like clockwork.
I was extremely fortunate to have a HS geography teacher in 1959 who was a recent retiree from the Pentagon. He emphasized the relationships between global strife and geography over the eons. He also made us memorize Eastern Europe geography, rivers, and cities. His lessons continue to resonate with me to this day. Trump uses the Global Economy as both a carrot and a stick to further USA interests.
The longest CaptK article in memory and exceedingly worth the time investment to read, understand, and absorb every word⦠all across the spectrum of readers from most open minded to least open minded. Like so many times before, many thanks Seth.
I clearly remember as a 9 year old watching Walter Cronkite news on TV during the Vietnam war. Walter said, "we can't tell the good guys from the bad guys." Since I had just received a passionate lecture about the 2nd Amendment and our Constitution from my democrat lawyer grandfather, my little brain came up with, "why can't we give the people of Vietnam their own 2nd Amendment?" I think this 60 year old thought is very pertinent now with Iran.

Of course we all know who else did not trust ANY government. The Founding Fathers.
And BTW, I just purchased Prisoners of Geography yesterday after you mentioned it on Captain K Live Sunday night.
I'm a huge fan of maps. Which is one of the reasons why I purchased two Precinct Maps from you.

All of us smart folks love maps! Warren County NY for the win.
Well said sir.

Thanks for the book recommendation!
sorry you are taking so much flack for speaking your well-informed opinion. LOTS of uninformed people yelling out there!

Great article! Very informative. Thank you!

I wish I had known then what we know now about Uncle Walter.
And it turns out he was an admitted Luciferian.
Yes, pretty much a communist sympathizer. The brainwashing is still very prevalent in our country.
